If you’ve ever ordered from us or reached out by email, chances are you’ve interacted with Carly! She is our behind the scenes master who can be found processing inventory, packing your orders or responding to your customer service emails and she does it all with a smile on her face (and while wearing cozy slippers).
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF TEAM WD?
I love working for Wooly Doodle because it’s really the first time in my working life where I feel like I belong to something much bigger than me, and that I have a purpose. I work with an amazing group of women who are all very supportive and encouraging and our work environment is very enjoyable. Elizabeth is an amazing boss who likes hearing our thoughts and ideas about products or colours and she always includes us in big decisions, as much as this is her company and her brand, she makes us feel like a team. I love being at home on weekends but I can honestly say when Monday rolls around there is nowhere else I would rather be than behind my computer at Wooly Doodle.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
I love to craft! I have a craft room in my house that I retreat too when I am not at work and my son is in bed. I usually tune into a crime podcast or listen to music while I work away on various projects. As much as possible I like to hand make gifts for friends, family and co-workers - the best part is seeing your vision come through when it’s finished, knowing how much effort you put into it!
BEST HOUSEHOLD HACK
I keep a small basket under my kitchen sink for wet, dirty cloths and tea towels from washing dishes or house cleaning in general. This is a very convenient location since we all spend a lot of time in the kitchen and it avoids tossing them in with your regular laundry between washes - no more dirty cloths on my WD clothes!
WHAT IS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU PEOPLE WOUDN’T EXPECT?
I have 6 tattoos on my body, some are bigger than others. To date I currently only like one of them but have plans to cover the one on my wrist with a tribute piece to my grandparents. The biggest one (my favourite) is a rose on a stem that goes down my left side and the smallest is a little black star behind my left ear.
FIRST CONCERT / FAVOURITE CONCERT?
My first concert was Sharon, Lois and Bram at Centennial Hall in London, ON. when I was little, my first concert without parental supervision would have been O-Town also at the same location. My absolute favourite concert would have been Keith Urban at the John Labatts Centre maybe 10 years ago, and at the time I really didn’t listen to him but I was given free tickets and his performance and talent blew me away.Back to Team Page
